YOU CAN GET TO CARNEGIE HALL FROM HERE!!!

We are pleased and proud to announce that 4 of our young pianists and 4 vocalists will perform in an Honors Recital in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The show will be held on Saturday April 7, 2012 at 3:30PM. They earned a spot in the show by auditioning at Marywood University in Scranton on January 15 in an event sanctioned by the Northeast Pennsylvania Music Teachers' Association. The piano students are: Benjamin Ferko, Alexandra Skuba, Alyssa Sweda, and Christian Yamulla. Vocal students are: Kacee Diehl, Katherine Pudish, Stephanie Pudish, and Emily Seratch. Instructors are Daniel DeMelfi and Joelle Witner. SEE YOU IN NEW YORK!!!!

FRANKIE SERATCH SINGS ON DAVID LETTERMAN SHOW

Frankie Seratch, 12, was chosen to sing on Late Night with David Letterman on December 15, 2010. Frankie, along with 7 other young people, sang backup for 60s pop star Ronnie Spector on the show, which aired from the famed Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City. Way to go Frankie!!

KEVIN HINKLE PERFORMS AT CARNEGIE HALL

16-year-old piano student Kevin Hinkle performed at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Saturday April 9, 2011. A pianist and student of Daniel DeMelfi, he earned the spot in the concert by auditioning through the Northeast PA Music Teachers' Association. Auditions were held in January at Marywood University. Out of 167 music students, Kevin was one of only 42 chosen to perform. The son of Bob and Donna Hinkle of Quakake Road, Weatherly, Kevin  played Chopin's Prelude in b minor.

KEENAN MONKS WINS NATIONAL ROLAND PIANO FESTIVAL

The Roland Piano Company sponsored a competition on Saturday October 23 at the Robert M. Sides Family Music Center in Wilkes-Barre. Contestants performed on the flagship RM-700 digital piano, and were judged by representatives of the Roland Company from throughout the country. Judging was based on technique, artistry, creativity, and use of the many features of the instrument. DeMelfi student Keenan Monks was the winner of the Youth 14-18 age group, and won an all-expense-paid trip to Los Angeles to compete in the National Finals in November,
